Ueda, Eriko

In novel environments or social situations, some people actively engage with the environment, while others feel stressed or avoid the situation. These individual differences in emotional reactivity and regulation are called temperament. In addition, early childhood temperament is associated with later personality and mental health. I focus on understanding the biological mechanisms of temperament from the perspective of comparative cognitive developmental science.
